~Randomness~

Giving Blood:
There will be a Blood Drive on April 17th and i think i am going to donate blood.  I've always wanted to donate blood, but i always have an excuse for myself not to.  For the longest time it was because i didn't meet the *weight* requirement.  i know it's quite sad, but it's not my fault that i don't weigh enough - blame my mom for not giving me fat absorbing genes.  Well i am finally over 110 lbs (i guess my goal this year of losing 5 pounds didn't work out).  I will take advantage of the weight and donate blood before losing the 5 pounds.  Thanks to the accident, i know that i have the *universal donor* blood type.   It would be a good thing to donate blood knowing that alot of people can benefit from my blood.  I mean it's only 1 pint, it can't hurt that much.  I heard on the news that blood from one race given to the same race has a better chance of accepting blood.  If this is true, then i want the asians to live  more than the others.  I read somewhere that if you donate plasma, you can get money from it.  I wonder if i could give blood and then tell them to take the plasma out and get money from that.  Benefit both ways.

Newsweek  Afterthoughts:  I know that there are NO non bias news reports out there, but i feel that even though it's a bit bias, i should keep up with what's going on.  I am tired of reading & watching celebrity news.  it's not even news, why should society care about what Jessican Simpson is doing with her life and who Paris Hilton is sleeping with.  I guess it's the entertainment that rots our brains.  Textbooks are boring, so my new hobby is reading news magazines.  Here's an interesting article that i recently read:
Battling The Aryan Brothers by Sarah Childress - Newsweek Feb.  13, 2006 issue.
This article show case a story on a prison gang called the Aryan Brothers. I am not going to summerize the article.  i just want to write about it.  All the article says is that it's hard to prosecute all of the gang member at once because they are very dangerous.  Imagine have 20+ gang members in court and any minute one of them gets lose?  There was this one time that one of them undid thier hand cuffs and killed his lawyer.  So take that imagine and multiply it by 20+.  There is also this fear of the aftermath of the case.  if they are guilty, then the lives of the lawyers, judges, ect might be harmed by the outside gang members.  Anyways after reading this article, i ended up googling it.  Guess what?  There are hardly any information about the Aryan Brothers.  i found one website that had a mini bio on them, but then again how can u trust them?  It's written by an individual.  From what i gather about the Aryan Brothers are that it is prison gang.  Barry Mills was the one that started it about 27 years ago.  Their mission is to protect white imates.  It's more or less a white supremecy gang.  I guess racism isn't really going to end.  Just when people thought the KKK was dying down, we have a white supremacy prison gang that have outside members.  Whatever happened to everyone being nice these days?

Personal Rant
This school year I have the worst roommates ever.  Not only are they cheap, but lazy.  They expect everyone else to do the work for them.  I personally cleaned the stove last week and 2 days later, it's dirty again.  The trays under the coils are soo burnt that it caused the fire alarm to come on because the heat is causing the spills to burn.  I mean you can smell it and see it, so why don't you clean it?  We are all adults now, must we always pick on the one person that likes to be clean and have her do all the dirty work?  Not it's only about cleaning.  They use people's things up and don't bother to buy more.  I thought the paper towels and dish washing soap all through out the year.  Then i stopped, cuz it just wasn't my turn to buy it.  Well once i stopped, so did the supplies.  No one else thought it was thier responsibilty to buy more soap or paper towels.  The will use your things but won't replenish them.  I guess that's when i started to put my name on everything and hide everything i own.  People are ridiculous these days.  I have another roommate that uses my toilet paper but never brought any out until i confronted her about it.  Then her idea of providing toilet paper is stealing it from school bathrooms.  so i bought my own toilet paper holder and that's when Hers & Mine toilet paper started.  I can't wait to move out and have my OWN place.
